- BULLS AND BEARS (BAB) is a stock market game intended for use by anyone
- wanting to learn a little about the effects of news headlines on
- different areas of the economy. It may reside on floppy disk or hard
- disk. It is completely 'menu driven' and has five (5) phases of
- operation: (With lots of graphics).
-
- 1) Input - The number of players (up to 4) and their first names are
- asked to be typed in. Then, a response to a question of allowing the
- computer to play is answered, and the game begins. Each player is
- allotted $5000 to try to make it grow to $100,000. The first player to
- reach $100,000 is declared the winner.
-
- 2) Present scores - All players stock values and cash-on-hand is
- displayed.
-
- 3) Portfolio updates - The portfolio of each player is presented in the

- he chooses HOLD, the next player is presented. The computer always
- plays last.
-
- 4) Market session - A list of equities paying dividends along with a
- list of the day's gainers and losers is listed.
-
- 5) Market news - The morning news headlines are displayed. The news
- headline is an indicator of what will happen to the market that day. If
- the players can interpret the news correctly, it will be very profitable
- during the portfolio update phase.
